HAPPY 4TH?OF JULY!! THE LIBERTY FEST PARADE

I hope everyone has a fun filled and safe 4th! Lauren Lundeen Miss Oklahoma USA 2012 and I were in the Liberty Fest Parade this morning. It was a great time seeing all the Americans out celebrating such an important day. We rode in style; Mr. Lundeen drove us in a vintage baby blue FORD Fairlane. There were so many people lining the streets holding the flags. It warmed my heart to see all the children waving back at Lauren and I. We had an absolutely wonderful time.

One of my dear friend's Alexis Banks birthday was July 1st and her party was at the Governor's mansion and I met the Govenor of our great state.  It was a wonderful honor to meet Govenor Mary Fallin who just happens to be the first woman to be Govenor of the state of Oklahoma. The newly crowned Miss Oklahoma America Alicia Clifton was also at the party it was a good time for everyone.

Bootcamp

Yesterday at Vanbros was a great day. It was our last day for this Bootcamp. We have one more bootcamp after this. This weekend we focused on Interview training with the wonderful Coach Valerie Hayes. When you have great instruction it is so rewarding not just for pageants but for your life. You gain life experience from those who are in the position to enhance your life.

Boot Camp

What a great start to the weekend. I got to see my sister queens at VANBROS & Associates today. We spent the afternoon in meetings about very important details related to the Miss Teen USA that is being held in the Bahamas July 28, 2012. I think tomorrow will even be more important. Definitely looking forward to it!!

Mayor Of El Reno

I went to speak with the Mayor of El Reno, Matt White, yesterday about "Embrace Don't Bully!" It was amazing to hear how involved he was with making sure all students of his community feel embraced and not bullied! While speaking with him I was extremely surprised and honored to receive the key to the city.

Pageant Fun

Last weekend I went to the Miss USA pageant held in Las Vegas and that was wonderful. I already posted a blog about my experience in Las Vegas with my sister queens. It made me so excited for my National Pageant which is being held at ATLANTIS in the Bahamas the week of July 28th. However, this weekend I went to the Miss Oklahoma America pageant. A big congratulations to Alicia Clifton the new Miss Oklahoma America 2012. It was a fun weekend and I got to see many of my friends who were contestants in the Outstanding Teen competition. I had a nice conversation with Miss Outstanding Teen 2011 Clytee Burchett, what a wonderful young woman. It is nice to visit other pageants and see the great work that pageantry is doing for young women across our great state. It does not matter which Pageant system you are involved in, they all have there place. What is important is to get out there and get involved in your own life and the lives of others.

Summer Concerts a Great Free Activity

Today in The Oklahoman newspaper there was a list of all the different sites and bands that are participating in these events for the rest of the summer.

Miss USA 2012

Miss USA was such an amazing experience from getting to bond with the other teens, to walking the Las Vegas strip and getting some major blisters from my heels, to getting to meet some incredible people. The teens and I had plenty of  things to do like going to the Sugar Factory with Miss Teen USA, Danielle Doty. She also  rode a double decker bus with all us teens plus a few specials guest such as Kamie Crawford, who always had us laughing, and The Pageant Guy, Will Henderson, which I had the honor of helping him interview all the teen contestants. I also had the chance to meet the famous runway coach Lou, and getting all of her must have tips. That wasn't the end to all the excitement, we even saw a sneak peek of Akon and Cobra Starship's performances before the pageant. Of course the most important part was the pageant, it was one of the best pageants I have had the honor of attending. My Miss Lauren Lundeen did an amazing job and I could not be prouder of the work she has done. Lauren showed us all that she has true dedication and I couldn't be happier that she made top 10 out of 51 girls. Of course I would have loved a top 5, but hey that's just me. Congratulations to the new Miss USA Olivia Culpo, she honestly had one of the best top 5 answers I've ever heard. She is a beautiful Miss USA, and I'm definitely looking forward to cheering her on at Miss Universe!

Coral Love.

Oh summer fever
The sun is shining, the birds are a singing! And new summer trends are coming out to play!
We all know that summer is always has bright and vibrant colors and I can hands down say my favorite summer color is bright coral! Not saying you have to go all out with this sassy color but an accent of jewellery or a cute wedge will make you're outfit pop!

I personally LOVE this outfit, so fun and yet simple. It's actually in my closet!

Favorite Artist: Taylor Swift

Say what you like about the beautiful blond, but in my opinion she's got a voice! A very powerful one at that. She knows her audience and speaks to them well. She also is an amazing role model for the young girls that look up to her. My favorite song by her is "Mean"

Favorite Sweet: Raspberries

If you ever want to win my heart do it with raspberries. You can put them on almost anything and I'll eat them. My mom will usually buy a box of them at the store and it never fails that their gone in less then an hour.

Favorite Fashion Icon: Lauren Conrad

You all know Lauren is like my idol, she literally has the cutest style and best tips!

Favorite Animal: Bulldog

Now tell me how you couldn't love these babies! I've always been weirdly in love with Bulldogs. Don't ask why they just melt my heart every time!

My Fashion icon

So as Miss Teen Oklahoma, you all know I have to try my best to look trendy and cute. So who is my style icon that I always turn too? Lauren Conrad of course!
Lauren always knows what's new in the fashion world but makes sure to put a fun young new twist to the trend. She's very close to my generation so what she wears is something all teens or older can pull off because she also adds class to her style.

Kansas City Boot Camp

Having a weekend get away was much needed! Getting to see my sister title holders is always an interesting time! You know what happens when you get pageant girls together. We're a crazy group! We had lots of bonding time and had the chance to work with some fantastic people, such as Daryl Woods, who gave us "fearlessly me." Which was very enlightening.

I also got to explore Kansas City, and that was a blast! I tried gelato for the first time from Paciguo, a little store at the Plaza. Let' s just say I fell in love with the Italian sweet! Over all I had amazing weekend with my 9 sister queens and am very honored to be working with such a great support team.

Meeting Sherri Hill

I was so incredibly fortunate that I had the chance to meet the one and only Sherri Hill! As you all can imagine it was a big deal not only to me but to my fellow title holders, Miss Oklahoma USA as well as Miss and Teen title holders from Arkansasa! So glad we got the opportunity to meet her!

Health tips!

Water!  I personally think water is the easiest and one of the best things you can do for your body!  It flushes out all those toxins, keeps your electrolytes functioning properly and it keeps your skin hydrated.  Also, did you know by replacing pop with water you can lose up to 8 pounds in two weeks?  I know all you ladies will love that "fun fact"!  Another awesome beauty reason is it keeps you from getting hang nails!  Which I'm pretty positive none of you gals want.(it ain't cute;)
Now, here's four quick tips on how to get your eight glasses of water everyday!
1.  Instead of coffee in the morning drink two ice cold glasses of water. Your avoiding all those calories and they wake you up just as much!
2.  Every meal have at least one glass of water.  This can also cause you to fill up fast, which in turn will cause you to eat less!
3.  Get a reusable bottle and drink from it during the day.
4.  Drink one glass right before bed.

I am pretty positive that everyone has heard of Pintrest by now. If not you better get with it!!;) So today I was on there just killing the time and would you know it I found a great idea for Valentines day!! This idea can be used for your Valentine or even a family memeber! Here's how it goes!! Good luck!

Special Olympics

Last weekend Miss Oklahoma, Lauren Lundeen, and I got to help out with SO! We started out our day helping to give out awards at the bowling tournament! We got lots of hugs and even a few proposals! Everyone was an amazing sport! Later that evening we got to go to the rodeo dance , where everyone got to see me embarrass myself on the dance floor countless times!
We had an incredible time with everyone! I think I can speak for both Lauren and I that we are very blessed to get the chance to work with SO and we are for sure doing more work with them!
